Care Instructions
Natural linen can shrink (marginally) after an initial wash. Due to its superior purity, flax plant fibres are sometimes visible in the material. Slight fading may occur after washing. These are not faults, but are characteristic of high purity linen.
Greener, water-washable designs: The Fold has embraced fabrics that can be washed with a machine wash, on a delicate cycle, reducing the need for dry cleaning.
Sorting & Washing
Sort by fabric and colour to avoid dye transfer or damage. Wash light and darks separately. Where a deeper colour and white are combined on the same product, wash on a cool, gentle cycle to minimise the risk of dye transfer.
Machine wash at 30° or cooler ideally with a mild liquid detergent on a gentle cycle
Do not bleach
Drying & Ironing
Air-dry flat or on the line, avoiding direct heat or sun which can shrink, fade, or distort fabric.
Low heat iron is required for Liberty Cotton
Please take extra care when ironing Liberty cotton placemats and the tablecloth border, and always use a very low heat setting to avoid damage.
Normal iron for linen
Linen naturally creases - leave to dry naturally for a relaxed, more informal look.
Storage & Maintenance
The ideal way to store your linen is by hanging it in a wardrobe. Drape it over a wooden or a wire hanger, this helps prevent creasing and keeps it ready to use for your next occasion.
